Event Description:
SLSO Concert Leonard Bernstein is recognized as a hero of American music and bombastic character. Known for his incredible conducting, composing, and recording legacies, he performed with the SLSO on a number of occasions. A friend of Bernstein's characterized him as "requiring men sexually and women emotionally." His Serenade (after Plato's "Symposium") is a musical treatment of a discussion between philosophers on love in ancient Greece.
